Objective

This page is intended to standardize the Duty and Training for those that will serve in the position of DPL.

This "Training Guide" should reflect the most current aspects of the position, including duty and responsiblity for the supporting year.

Introduction

Our patrol is supported by 2 groups of patrollers - Red and Blue. Each Group has a single DPL and several assistant DPL patrollers to help provide alternating weekend coverage for the area. Example: One week the Blue DPL runs the hill and the next weekend the Red DPL runs the hill.

  • It is the responsibility of the DPL to operate and manage all of the patrols support roles during each shift.
  • The DPL must coordinate all required actions with the area staff.
  • The area staff begins with the on duty paid patrollers. They are our direct line of support to ensure the area protocols are completed.
  • The DPL coordinates these issues with the Patrol Director, and the Operations Director.
  • Red and Blue DPL work together as a team, communicating issues to ensure support.

As an effective Leader the DPL organizes the patrols supporting efforts for the general public and the area staff. This is a team effort and requires support from the group members to be successful.

*The DPL is the responsible party in charge of the volunteer staff supporting the hill and the area.

  • The DPL is responsible for the actions of the patrol staff.

General duties

  • Ensure hill coverage at all times.
  • Coordinate staff duties.
  • Assign Assistant DPL's to help cover the shifts.
  • Enlist the support of all staff members to ensure completion of required task.
  • Operate radio room.
  • Train Assistant's
  • Ensure building and property security.
  • Coordinate issues with AFD as needed.
